The Opera will be streamed in various Digital Platforms such as YOUTUBE live and will be made available for free to all opera lovers around the world. The opera was last seen in NYC in 1997 with the late Mirella Freni in the title role. This year, the title role of Fedora will be sung by Hungarian soprano Csilla Boross as Loris, Italian tenor Francesco Anile, known to the NYC audiences for stepping in a few years ago at the Met as Otello in jeans and T-Shirt, as well as Canio in Leoncavallo’s Pagliacci with New York City Opera.

Italian baritone Marco Nistico will be singing the role of De Siriex along with Venezuelan soprano Maria Brea as Olga, winner of Francesco Vinas Zarzuela Price Competition. The rest of the cast will future: Ruben Casas, Eugenia Fortezza, Samuel White, Taehwan Ku, Michael Gracco, Darian Worell, Paolo Buffagni, Rich Agster, and Kinneret Ely.

3. In November 2020 (exact date to be determined) in collaboration with BENIAMINO GIGLI ASSOCIATION in Recanati (IT) we shall be presenting in a YOUTUBE live experts from Boito’s MEFISTOFELE. November 26, 2020, marks the 100 Anniversary of Teatro Grattacielo the tenor’s Met debut as Faust in A. Boito Mefistofele right after his La Scala debut in the same role in 1918 under the baton of Arturo Toscanini. Bass Alessandro Tirotta will be singing the role of Mefistofele, tenor Thomas Massey will be Faust and soprano Francesca Mondanaro Margerita.
Last but not least, we are happy to announce the creation of our brand-new Blog dedicated to the world of opera in collaboration with Italian (but NYC based) journalist, Davide Mamone.
Following his outstanding critical successes in our productions over the past decade, conductor Israel Gursky will be returning once again to lead our Fedora performance.
We are delighted to continue our presentations of these great, but rarely-performed, operas of the Italian verismo. In our first twenty-five years, we have presented the North American Premiers of I Cavalieri di Ekebù, Guglielmo Ratcliff, La Farsa Amorosa, and Sakùntala and the New York Premieres of L’Arlesiana and La Nave along with the many other operas that had not been heard in New York in over 70 years.
We look forward to continuing our exploration of many more of these magnificent operas with great anticipation.
