Hello! My name is Dana Ryskulova, I am 25 years old and I am from Kyrgyzstan, and now I am studying in China.

When did you start painting?

It all started when I was ten years old. I was very fond of painting, I could sit for hours and copy everything I saw, and especially I liked the illustrations in the school textbooks. Of course, all at once it does not work; sometimes I erased the paper until holes correct the parts of the drawing that I did not like.

Did you like drawing since childhood or did it come sooner with age?

I always dreamed of becoming a multiplier, but in our country, this sphere was very badly developed in those years. And I remember how seriously I thought about becoming an archaeologist. Well, that did not!

How did you come to the decision to become an artist? Did your relatives support you?

Honestly, it’s hard for me to call myself an artist, since I do not have an art education. Drawing has always been my hobby. By profession, I am an engineer-computer. Science is good for me, and so I chose this direction. In addition, I knew that the list of our subjects will be computer graphics. In the depths of my soul I very much hoped for this subject, but unfortunately, we received only theoretical knowledge.

Do you remember your first digital art?

Adobe Photoshop has always been associated with editing photos, but the day I learned that it still can draw and that there are graphics tablets, a whole new world has opened up for me. The next day I ordered a tablet. I did not have the patience to wait for it and my first art was drawn by a computer mouse. It was a drawing of a bulldog. Unfortunately, I did not save it.

Which of the characters among all the princesses painted by you is the most interesting for you? Which of the art was the most difficult?

It was very interesting for me to draw a little mermaid, probably because she was my favorite character of all. In addition, a lot of subscribers asked me to draw it, that’s why I drew it last. For me, the most difficult work is the next, I always try to complicate the pictures.

And in conclusion, could you give advice to beginning artists who are just looking for their style?

I advise them to try to paint every day, to look at the work of your favorite artists. And do not be discouraged at the beginning if something does not work out. All professionals were once beginners.
